Go to https://portal.academicsoftware.com/login and log in with studentnumber@vuw.leidenuniv.nl (for example s1234567@vuw.leidenuniv.nl). 

For whom

The software distribution platform is developed for students. You can access it as an employee (use your Microsoft account like a.b.lastname@vuw.leidenuniv.nl). Please be aware: when you have a university computer it’s likely you cannot install software on it. If you need specific software, please see the info on the ISSC helpdeskportal for information on software installation. 

On the faculty’s sharepoint site a list of all software that was requested to be transferred to the software distribution platform can be found. 

Info for students

On the students’ website general information about the software distribution platform is posted. Students have received a mailing informing them about the platform on Thursday 29 August 2024. 

In each Brightspace course of our faculty you find a content item with software information for students. This will be hidden from view for students, so teachers can add specific information for your course before they change the visibility.  

Support for the software distribution platform

• For login issues, please have students contact the ISSC helpdesk.
• For issues downloading or installing the software, please have students contact the support of Academic Software via the chat on the platform.
• You as a teacher need to provide support students might need to use the actual software once correctly installed. 
• In case you miss software on the platform that you have requested before the summer, please contact SEEDS (seeds@science.leidenuniv.nl). Also contact SEEDS in case you’d like software to be added to the platform.
