Back to work
When you return to work after the birth of your child, you are entitled to a number of facilities. These are listed below.
Working hours
Until six months after the birth, you are entitled to adjusted working and rest hours. If you work eight hours a day, you are entitled to an extra break of one hour.
Breastfeeding and expressing milk
For the first nine months following the birth, you may breastfeed your child or express milk during working hours. If you wish to express milk, you can use the lactation room. You may feed or express milk as often and as long as you need to, up to one quarter of your working hours or shift. This time counts as working time. We recommend that you have a timely discussion with your supervisor about the impact this will have on your work.
Parental leave
You are entitled to parental leave on partial pay and unpaid parental leave.
