Business travel
If you go on a business trip, you are entitled to reimbursement of your travel and subsistence expenses. If you are planning a business trip abroad, please follow the five steps outlined below.
Business trips in the Netherlands
For business trips in the Netherlands, you should in principle use public transport. If this is not possible, you may in consultation with your supervisor use your own car, a taxi, or a rented vehicle. For more information on reimbursement of expenses, see Reimbursement of expenses for business trips in the Netherlands.
Business trips abroad
To make a business trip abroad, you need prior permission from the University. Make sure you apply for authorisation no later than 8 weeks before your trip. If your trip is approved, book your trip via Uniglobe, the University’s partner travel agency. Plan your business trip abroad by following these five steps.
Travel map
Planning an international business trip? Our interactive travel map (also available as a PDF) makes it easy to explore train options for European destinations. See how long it will take to get there, and how the journey compares with flying. For any destination which can be reached within six hours, taking the train is the norm. This is part of our university policy to support greener travel and lower our CO2 footprint.
