Updates

Explanation of improvements and additions to templates and blocks.

The following improvements have been made in version 250414 of the Newsletter and Mailing templates and the corresponding blocks.

New blocks

New blocks are available for both templates:

Newsletter (Nieuwsbrief) template

  • Banner image
  • Frame with small image
  • Wide block with small image
  • Subheading
  • In the media block
  • Laureate block

Mailing template

  • Banner image
  • Horizontal line
  • Frame with small image
  • Subheading

Better overview and user-friendliness

  • Clear dotted lines between the blocks indicate where you can drag a new block into your design.

  •  If you accidentally drag a block into another block, a warning will appear on the screen.

User instructions extended

  • The templates already contain a button to the full Dutch manual. A button to the English manual has now been added.

  • Each block contains a link to extensive tips for formatting that block. These tips are also available in English.

Improved view of send

  • The headlines of the items in the newsletters and mailings had too much top and bottom space in some situations. That has now been fixed.

  • In the desktop versions of Outlook, which cannot show custom fonts, the fallback font Arial was not always shown, but the font that a user had set as the default. This has now been fixed: in the desktop versions of Outlook, the headers of newsletters and mailings are always shown in Arial font.

  • The custom font Vestula and the fallback font Arial are now more similar in terms of size. The chance that text in one font seems to fit on one line, but falls over the line in another, has been significantly reduced.

  • The social media icons are larger and have more space between them, which promotes accessibility.

  • The templates have been adjusted in such a way that the final newsletters and mailings are smaller in size (in Mb's) than before.

  • In the newsletter block 'Two narrow blocks', the distance between the two columns has been slightly widened, which improves the readability of the headlines.

  • Minor improvements in line spacing and dark mode display.
