What is TEC?

From the 2026-2027 academic year each programme will record the teaching preparation process in TimeEdit Curriculum (TEC). TEC is the curriculum source system in which data is recorded completely and reliably. From TEC, data can be exchanged with other systems. TEC replaces local Word and Excel files and time-consuming and error-prone manual tasks.

Advantages of TEC

  • More efficient and less error-prone process for teaching preparation;
  • Reduction in pressure of work for users;
  • Fewer users needed for system management;
  • Closer monitoring and meeting of deadlines;
  • Clearly defined roles, tasks and authorities;
  • Better links with applications through clear definition and recording of data;
  • Easier compliance with regulations around archiving and change registration.

TimeEdit Curriculum (TEC) improves the provision of information and supports teaching-logistics processes.

Improving the provision of information

  • The subject coordinator can view the planning immediately after the start of the course. This avoids the need for mails about delivery deadlines.
  • TEC avoids double filling in of information through a link with uSis.
  • Information that was entered previously by the subject coordinator can be reused.

You play an important role in determining the curriculum, deploying teaching staff or roster requests. TEC brings all these processes together in a user-friendly, reliable source that is clear for everyone.

With the ambition of ‘the basis in good order’, Leiden University wants to have fragmented processes structured more efficiently. TEC brings together programme content, teacher deployment, roster requests and the prospectus. This means you will work from one system which is less error-prone. The aim is to manage work processes with less time and effort.
