Honours education

Are you a lecturer at Leiden University? Are you interested in working with motivated honours students, experimenting with innovative educational methods, and developing your own skill set? If so, you can apply as a lecturer for the Honours education. The minimum requirement is that the BKO modules Teaching in practice and How to design a course have been followed. If interested, please contact teacher-professionalization@fsw.leidenuniv.nl.

How to write a Grassroots/Grass shoots proposal | 21 November | 12:00-13:00h
Each academic year the FSW awards Grassroots and Grass Shoots grants to stimulate and support educational innovation. But how to write a successful proposal? Why do you need to formulate a theory of change? And what does the committee consider innovative? Join Grassroots/Grass Shoots coordinator Mieneke van der Salm to learn the answers to these questions and get more tips on writing your Grassroots or Grass Shoots proposal.

How can you integrate GAI in your teaching in a way that is beneficial to you and/or your students? This academic year, SOLO and colleagues from other faculties are joining forces to organise bi-monthly AI meetups where teachers will share good practices, discuss their experience with AI in their teaching or present their research on AI in education.

Inspiration session Podcasts in Education | 28 November | 15-17H
Are you curious about the uses of podcasts in education? Would you like to know more about the experiences of colleagues and experience recording a podcast yourself? During this inspiration session Rachel Plak and Astrid van Weyenberg will talk about their use of podcasts in education. Afterwards, you can get busy yourself in the mini-workshop podcasting by colleague Erik van Duijn, discuss podcasts in education at the round table or listen to good examples of podcasts in education in the listening corner.

Boost your blended techniques: Creating podcasts and knowledge clips for education | 4 December | 11:00-13:00h
During this lunchworkshop we will discuss the practical side of recording a podcast or knowledge clip, preparing your script, the do’s and don’t’s in the studio. And of course, what to do with your newly created podcast or knowledge clip. We will also discuss different methods and tools to facilitate engagement.
