Develop your teaching skills with a range of workshops and trainings. Or challenge yourself as a lecturer at the Honours Academy.

Honours education

Are you a lecturer at Leiden University? Are you interested in working with motivated honours students, experimenting with innovative educational methods, and developing your own skill set? If so, you can apply as a lecturer for the Honours education. The minimum requirement is that the BKO modules Teaching in practice and How to design a course have been followed. If interested, please contact teacher-professionalization@fsw.leidenuniv.nl.

Get started with Brightspace | 27 and 29 August, 3 September | 10:00-10.30h
This online training covers the most important functions, such as the link with uSis, accessing the course, adding content and working with sections and release conditions.

How to set up your Brightspace Gradebook | 5 September | 10:00-10:30h
In the Brightspace gradebook, you can keep track of your students' grades, calculate final grades and show them to students. In this online training we explain how to set up your gradebook and create grade items.

In this online training you will learn how to make an assessment of a master's or bachelor's thesis using the thesis assessment tool. You will acquire skills to use the tool effectively and understand the relevant processes involved.

Ans Basics: working with our new testing systeem | several dates in September
From 1 September, digital exams will only be administered in Ans. In this online workshopyou will be guided through Ans in an hour, based on the test cycle, so that when you prepare your next exam, you will be able to find your way around our new testing system.

Boost your blended techniques: Creating podcasts and knowledge clips for education | 4 December | 11:00-13:00h
During this lunchworkshop we will discuss the practical side of recording a podcast or knowledge clip, preparing your script, the do’s and don’t’s in the studio. And of course, what to do with your newly created podcast or knowledge clip. We will also discuss different methods and tools to facilitate engagement.
