Research schools

Many PhD candidates, as well as research master students at the Faculty of Humanities, are members of a research school related to their area of expertise. Research schools aim at the collaboration of researchers from different faculties in the same university (interfaculty schools) or in different universities (interuniversity schools).

Courses

The humanities and arts faculties have agreed with the research schools that the schools will organise courses that can easily be incorporated in the programmes offered by the faculty graduate schools. According to an agreement between the faculties and the research schools, not only PhD candidates but also research master students can follow courses at the research schools. The agreement and the application procedure is specified in this letter.

LOGOS

LOGOS is the Council of Dutch Research Schools in the Humanities. Research schools are responsible for offering courses and training for ReMA students and PhD candidates in particular disciplines or fields of study – in addition to courses and training provided by local Graduate Schools. LOGOS is a platform on which these research schools discuss challenges they face. It represents the interests of these research schools, in particular towards the Council of Deans in Arts and Humanities (Disciplineoverleg Letteren en Geesteswetenschappen, DLG) and to the Regieorgaan Geesteswetenschappen.
