Connecting your laptop to the university network and internet
With a port replicator, you can connect your device to one or more displays and, with some models, power them. In addition, you can connect a university managed device to the university network and the internet in a fast and reliable way.
You can connect both a university (managed) and a private (unmanaged) device:
- University (managed) device: access to the network (such as the network drives) and the Internet.
- Private (unmanaged) device: only access to the internet.
You connect your device to a port replicator via a USB-A or USB-C connection. At workstations that do not yet have a port replicator, you can connect your device to the Ethernet connection.
On a Windows device, you can see whether you have a wired or Wi-Fi connection to the network in the bottom right of the taskbar. On a Mac, you'll see this at the top right of the menu bar.
Please note: the use of the internet through the network of the university is bound by rules of conduct (Dutch only).
