On Thursday 29 August, Arco Timmermans, Professor by special appointment Public Affairs at the Institute of Public Administration in The Hague launched the book ‘Public Affairs in Maatschappelijk Perspectief’(Public Affairs from a Social Perspective).

In a one-hour interview on Dutch radio programme Sleutelstad, Anne-Laura van Harmelen talks about her research into the role friendships in adolescents' well-being, the resilience paradox and the role of social, hormonal and genetic factors in stress-levels and resilience.

A Festschrift of The Medieval Chronicle series published by Brill was recently published, with essays dedicated to Erik Kooper. Before his retirement, Kooper, who specialised in medieval literature, was a lecturer in the English programme at Utrecht University.

The aims of the project are to: further clarify 'inhibition by safety'; explore and describe all possible sagety factors, with a special focus on the primary human safety source: social connectedness; reviewing prolonged stress responses without stressors.
