Six Medical Delta professors for Leiden
Six professors or associate professors from Leiden University have officially been appointed 'Medical Delta Professor'. Their inauguration took place at the Medical Delta Conference in Delft on 8 April.
Medical Delta is a partnership between Leiden University, the LUMC, TU Delft, Erasmus University, Erasmus MC, four universities of applied sciences in Zuid-Holland (The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, Leiden University of Applied Sciences, and Inholland University of Applied Sciences), government bodies, healthcare institutions and business. Medical Delta aims to develop technological solutions for sustainable healthcare.
Medical Delta appoints Medical Delta Professors each year. They hold two or more appointments at two or more of the nine affiliated academic institutions. These professors have distinguished themself through their research and work as people who connect academic disciplines and bridge the gap between research and practice. The official title is not just a form of recognition: for at least five years, the professors will actively serve as ambassadors for transdisciplinary collaboration in health, innovation, and implementation.
