Call for Nominations Now Open – Krijn Rietveld Memorial Awards 2025

The Leiden University Fund and dsm-firmenich are proud to open the call for the Krijn Rietveld Memorial Awards 2025. These annual prizes honour innovative research at the Faculty of Science that contributes to a more sustainable world and has a clear societal impact.

Two awards – one mission: science that matters

 

πŸ† Graduate Societal Impact Award (€2,500)

Awarded for the best Master’s thesis at the Faculty of Science in the fields of life sciences, health science, biotechnology, or environmental health science, with the aim of improving human health or wellbeing.
πŸ‘‰ For MSc alumni who graduated within the past three years.

πŸ† Doctoral Societal Impact Award (€3,000)

Awarded for the best published PhD or postdoctoral research with societal relevance, preferably involving a data science component.
πŸ‘‰ For researchers who are currently working as a PhD student or a postdoc within the faculty.

Procedure and deadline

Potential candidates have been contacted by email and may apply in consultation with their thesis supervisor or promotor. Final nominations should be submitted via the institute’s Education or Scientific Director.
