Keuzegids Masters 2025: History and Classics and Ancient Civilizations score well above average
Two Humanities research masters and one master’s programme score well above average in the Keuzegids Masters: the research master History, the master and research master Classics and Ancient Civilizations.
Based on the results of the National Student Survey (NSE), the Keuzegids Masters compares over 1250 master's programs each year, both at university and hbo level. Master's programmes are compared on five different themes: content, lecturers, assessment, career preparation and the atmosphere of a programme. A score can be obtained for each theme, ranging from -- (very below average) to ++ (very above average). The results of the National Student Survey (NSE) are used as a basis. In this way, the Keuzegids aims to help students make an informed master's choice.
The research master History and the master and research master Classics and Ancient Civilizations score well above average (++) on the components Content, Lecturers, Assessment and Atmosphere.
Programme Chair History, Ariadne Schmidt: “We are very proud of this assessment! It is a wonderful recognition of the enormous dedication of our lecturers, and everyone who contributes to the Research Master. High-quality, research-driven education for ambitious students, that is what we stand for. The fact that this is appreciated by students is a wonderful recognition.”
Programme Chair Classics and Ancient Civilizations, Jonathan Stökl: “The lecturers and the board of the (research) master Classics and Ancient Civilizations are very pleased that the quality of our programmes and the hard work of our team have been rated so positively. Our research-driven education means that students get the chance to participate in recent research which helps them develop into independent researchers. It is great to see that this is appreciated so positively by students!”
