Exhibition "Leidsche Mondialen" on display at Faculty of Social Sciences
In our building, a new, colorful exhibition is now on display! Twelve artists from the collective "De Leidsche Mondialen" are showcasing their work in various locations within the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSW).
De Leidsche Mondialen is a collective of 55 artists that organizes exhibitions for its members and guests. In the current exhibition, 12 artists are presenting their creations.
From the hall on the ground floor, we can see five dynamic ballet performances painted by Jacques van Kampen, where fantasy and reality intertwine. In the restaurant, you’ll find works by Mary Hendriks, who has worked in Africa and draws inspiration from the landscapes and vibrant colors she encountered there. In the hall near the Education Service Center, you can admire the unique creations of Olga Dorresteijn, whose work is inspired by nature and balances between realism and abstraction, breaking free from traditional boundaries.
The other artists include Ahlam Arani, Drieske Bakkers, Els Bernaerts, Hannelies Slee, Inez Staarink, Irene Kurpershoek, Jacqueline Borg, Lies Vester, and Monika Jordense Michalski. Each has a distinctive style, ranging from photography and realism to Mondrian-like abstraction.
The artworks will be on display until March 7 in the gallery on the first floor, the restaurant, and the hallway near the Education Service Center. Feel free to take a look and be inspired!
