90th year anniversary of the Leiden Papyrological Institute
The Leiden Papyrological Institute celebrates its 90th year anniversary
The foundation of the Leiden Papyrological Institute took place on the 19th of January 1935. A donation of 21 papyri formed the start of the current papyrus collection. The 90th year anniversary has been celebrated at the 55th Papyrologists’ Day in Leiden last Saturday.
On occasion of this celebration a new blog series has been initiated, in which students of papyrology in Leiden try to answer questions about life in antiquity aided by papyri from our collection.
