Europe Hub MA thesis prize awarded to Federica Antoniani
Federica Antoniani is the recipient of the very first MA thesis prize awarded by Leiden University’s Europe Hub. She received the prize for her thesis entitled 'Accounting for Accountability: Europol between Protecting Personal Data and Fostering Innovative Artificial Intelligence for Law Enforcement Authorities.'
The prize rewards excellent MA theses that touch on contemporary issues affecting Europe. Federica wrote the thesis as part of the LL.M. European Law under the supervision of Dr Simona Demková. Jury member Dr Dimiter Toshkov, of the Institute of Public Administration, presented the prize.
The jury was unanimous in its choice for the winning thesis. The topic is relevant to society and science and is presented in a way that is elegantly written, clearly structured and accessible for non-specialists.
Reflecting the diversity of research and teaching on Europe at Leiden University, the jury included members from the four faculties that participate in the Europe Hub. The Europe Hub is an interfaculty platform showcasing the university’s research, teaching expertise and capacity to tackle Europe's challenges both at home and abroad.
