Executive Board member Martijn Ridderbos to leave Leiden University
Vice-chairman of the Executive Board Martijn Ridderbos will leave Leiden University at the end of this year. As of 1 January 2025, he will take up a new position as a director at the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). His second and final term as a member of the council was due to expire in May 2025.
Martijn Ridderbos has led the university's business operations (Finance, Real Estate, ICT, HRM, Facilities) in his position for the past seven and a half years. He also played a central role in the further development of Campus The Hague and fulfilled various roles for Universities of the Netherlands (UNL).
The Board of Governors and the Executive Board would like to thank Martijn for his tireless efforts during his tenure. 'With Martijn's departure, both the Executive Board and the university will lose an administrator who has meant a lot to our academic community. Major projects such as the Arsenal, the data centre, the Herta Mohr Building and the new Gorlaeus Building have been realised under his supervision. In addition, together with all the directors, he has given impetus to future-proof integrated business operations at our university. We wish him the best of luck in his new position at ACM.'
The Board of Governors has already started the search for a successor. Information concerning how the university will say goodbye to Martijn will follow at a later date.
