Dennis Janssen appointed as Director of Operations for the Leiden Observatory
Dennis Janssen has been appointed as Director of Operations for the Leiden Observatory. He succeeds Dominique de Vet who temporarily held the position. Janssen currently works as a program manager Leiden Research Support within Administration and Central Services and will start his new role on 18 November.
‘I am very pleased with the arrival of Dennis,’ says Suzanne van der Pluijm, Director of Operations at the Faculty of Science. Dennis knows the university well. He combines his previous experience working at a research institute as a department manager with his current experience as programme manager Leiden Research Support. This allows him to find the right balance between managing an institute (and keeping operations healthy) and optimising processes in service of education and science.’
With the appointment of Dennis Janssen, the collegial institute board for the Leiden Observatory is now complete. More information about the new governance model at Faculty of Science and an overview of the administrators can be found on the website.
