Lieke Beekers wins Young Economist Award 2024
On 28 August 2024, Lieke Beekers won the Young Economist Award 2024.
This prize was awarded to her for her paper 'Sources of Regional Variation in Intergenerational Mobility', which focused on whether the region where a child grows up has an impact on their success as an adult.
The award is given to three young researchers each year. Along with Lieke Beekers, the recipients of the 2024 Young Economist Award are Francesco Ferlenga (University of Warwick) and Shane Mahen (University of Cambridge).
They received the award at the EEA-ESEM congress which was held in Rotterdam.
