Good education? You have to get that right

It is an area of expertise that often remains invisible, but has a huge impact on the day-to-day operations of our faculty: education logistics. Program manager Erik Reinders has a passion for this work that goes beyond processes and procedures. 'We want to keep improving continuously.'

From registration to graduation, you need to get your educational logistics right. In his role as program manager, Erik tries to organise these processes as efficiently as possible. Together with the program team, he ensures that everyone involved can do their work smoothly and effectively. 'It is a complex and challenging game of optimisation and fine-tuning, in which any improvement often has an immediate positive impact on education and the experience of teachers and students.'

A reliable and effective education system

Delayed graduation ceremonies, late registration of grades and faulty administrations. The consequences of inefficient education logistics not only cost time and money, but can also jeopardise student mobility. 'By streamlining these processes, we create a reliable and effective education system. Every time we solve a problem or improve a process, we see immediate results. It not only saves the faculty resources, but also creates a better student experience and more job satisfaction among colleagues. That gives enormous satisfaction.'

Theme days strengthen cooperation

An important initiative of Erik's are the theme days, where colleagues come together to discuss bottlenecks and exchange ideas on possible improvements. These meetings are not only productive, but also strengthen cooperation within the faculty. 'It is inspiring to see how involved and enthusiastic all colleagues are. Even as they experience huge workloads, they take the time to think along and find solutions together. It shows the power of cooperation and the shared goal of continuously improving our education. And just as important: workload must be reduced and job satisfaction increased. That can be done by optimising our processes.'

No good education without good logistics

The work of Erik and the program team may often be invisible, but its effects certainly are not. Together, they contribute to the quality and efficiency of education. 'Education logistics may not be the first thing you think of when you think of educational innovation. But without good logistics, we cannot provide good education.'

Better education for all

It is therefore more than just administrative work. 'The commitment of our staff goes beyond grades and diplomas. They provide better education for everyone. I am proud of what we do and look forward to continuing to work together to tailor education to the needs of teachers and students as well as possible in the future.'
