New report on age assurance by Simone van der Hof and Mohammed Raiz Shaffique
Simone van der Hof, Professor of Law and Digital Technologies at eLaw, and Mohammed Raiz Shaffique, Researcher and PhD candidate at eLaw, have published a report on age assurance for the European Commission.
Age assurance is increasingly viewed as a useful tool for online child safety and has been the topic of extensive discussion in recent times. In this report, drawn up in collaboration with the European Schoolnet, the authors analyse the various dimensions of age assurance and how it should be implemented in a context-specific, rights-respecting manner.
The report was published as part of the Commission’s Better Internet for Kids+ strategy, which seeks to protect and promote the rights of children online. More information about this important work is available on the website of the European Commission.
