WCN research prize for Marie Depuydt
During the 36th Scientific CardioVascular Congress, which was held last November in Amsterdam, Marie Depuydt from the BioTherapeutics division received the 2nd prize in the WCN research competition for her work (Vereniging Werkgroep Cardiologische centra Nederland (WCN)).

With these research prizes, the WCN aims to create visibility for young scientists in the field of cardiovascular research. During the conference, Marie presented her recent Nature Cardiovascular Research paper “Single-cell T cell receptor sequencing of paired human atherosclerotic plaques and blood reveals autoimmune-like features of expanded effector T cells” to a clinical audience, consisting of cardiologists and healthcare professionals. The jury, chaired by the director of the Dutch Cardiovascular Alliance prof. dr. Jolien Roos-Hesselink, highly appreciated the clear explanation of the immunological findings and the relevance for the clinic. Based on the article, the presentation and Marie’s CV, the jury awarded her with the 2nd prize, which consisted of a research grant of 2500 euro.
