Rawi Ramautar new Programme Director of Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences bachelor’s program
Rawi Ramautar will be the new Programme Director of the bachelor of Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences starting September 1. The appointment is for four years. Ramautar succeeds Erik Danen, who has held the position since 2019.
Hubertus Irth, Scientific Director of the LACDR, welcomes Ramautar’ s appointment. ‘Rawi is one of LACDR’s most experienced lecturers, and is closely involved in the development of bachelor and master education in the field of bioanalytical chemistry. We are very pleased that he is willing to join our management team.’
An enthusiastic and approachable lecturer
Miranda van Eck, Programme Director of the Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences master’s program, is also pleased with Ramautar’ s appointment. ‘Rawi is an enthusiastic and approachable lecturer who encourages students to think actively to come up with creative solutions on their own. With his ideas for innovations in education and from his role as education coordinator within the Metabolomics and Analytics Center, he has contributed positively to the coordination and development of our programs on many fronts in recent years.’
‘Erik has successfully steered the study programme through the COVID-19 period’
Irth and Van Eck are very grateful to Erik Danen for what he has accomplished over the past four years. ‘Erik has successfully steered the study programme through the difficult COVID-19 period. He has contributed enormously to the renewal of our bachelor programme and he has managed the enormous growth in student numbers. He also laid the foundation for an updated curriculum with an explicit learning line in computational drug development. In addition, as a member of the executive board of the LACDR, Erik had a leading role in the development of the LACDR.’
