New data management committee at LACDR
We are pleased to announce the creation of a new committee dedicated to data management practices at the LACDR. With the increasing amount of data being generated by our institute and the implementation of the newly acquired Electronic Lab Journal RSpace, it is essential to manage and organize our research data effectively. The Data Management Committee consists of 4 scientists representing each division (Ilze Bot/BT, Gerard van Westen/DDS, Coen van Hasselt/SPP and Amy Harms/MAC) as well as the newly appointed part-time Data Stewards (Gerhard Burger, Frank Schaftenaar and Michael van Vliet) and our IT expert Roelof van der Kleij.
Chaired by Sylvia Le Dévédec, the committee will work together with the Centre for Digital Scholarship and the faculty data steward Dr. Alessa Gambardella. The Data Management Committee will be responsible for further developing policies and guidelines specific for the LACDR, providing training and support to researchers and staff, reviewing data management plans, promoting data sharing and reuse, and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. We believe that this committee will play a crucial role in enhancing the LACDR's research capabilities and promoting best practices in data management.
