Spinning marathon and Turkish pizzas: USC raises money for earthquake victims
On Wednesday 15 February, the University Sports Centre raised money for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. The total currently stands at €2,490.
In three blocks of one hour, people could take a spinning class and raise both money and awareness for the many victims of the earthquake. The spinning marathon was held in the USC hall so that anyone coming to exercise that evening would see the event and the riders fanatically pedalling their way through the evening for this very good cause.
The USC’s café also had an important part to play: they sold Syrian lentil soup in the daytime and Turkish pizzas in the evening and donated all the proceeds to the fundraiser.
