New Year’s Reception like old times, faculty vision and strategy plan presented
After two virtual editions, the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences could finally come together in real life again to celebrate the start of the new year. So it’s no surprise that the central hall of the Pieter de la Court Building was filled with lively chatter during the New Year’s Reception, which was kicked off with the official presentation of the faculty Vision and Strategy Plan.
Dean Paul Wouters had the honour of presenting the first copy of the Vision and Strategy Plan to Kiki Zanolie, chair of the Faculty Council and as such representative of the Faculty’s community.
That community has played an important role during the drafting of the plan, says the Dean: for example, there were thirteen workgroups involved and more than a hundred staffmembers and students joined one of the several feedback sessions.
But that does not mean that this document is the finish line. ‘This is a living document,’ says Paul Wouters. ‘Together, we will look for the time and space to learn, to develop and to reach our goals. Let’s keep the dialogue going.’ And that new year’s resolution was immediately carried out by the conversation starters, strategically distributed on the standing tables.
