Leiden Law School hands in proposal for allocation starter grants
The Faculty Board has handed in a proposal with the Executive Board (CvB) for the allocation of the starter and incentive grants.
The Faculty Board hopes and expects that the CvB will approve the proposal next week and that they will be able to inform staff members about the details before Christmas.
The grants have been created by Minister of Education, Culture, and Science Dijkgraaf to promote unattached research, alleviate work pressure, and reduce competition among colleagues. Especially among young academics.
However, the allocation of the grants has proven to be somewhat of a puzzle for most faculties. To forestall turmoil and disparity, the Leiden Law School board has created a made-to-measure policy. ‘It must be smart, inclusive, and fair,’ according to the board.
What the policy looks like exactly will be made public as soon as it has been approved by the CvB.
