Carel ten Cate awarded honorary membership Dutch Society for Behavioural Biology
Professor emeritus of Animal Behaviour Carel ten Cate is awarded honorary membership by the Dutch Society for Behavioural Biology (NVG). He received the honour for his activities for the Society and the discipline of behavioural biology.
The Dutch Society for Behavioural Biology was founded 30 years ago to promote and spread the knowledge of animal behaviour. It unites the various researchers of animal behaviour and represents these towards organizations like NWO.
Initiator
The awarding of the honorary membership to Carel ten Cate (professor emeritus of Animal Behaviour) occurred at the yearly scientific conference of the Society at the end of November. Ten Cate was one of the initiators of the Society and board member for several years, among which as chair. He represented the discipline in many committees and foundations and had an important role in bringing together the various European organizations for the study of animal behaviour.
