New students getting to know Leiden Law School
On the second day of the EL CID introduction week, hundreds of new students set foot in ‘their’ law faculty for the first time. They were introduced to the history and ways of the University. Exciting and fun at the same time. ‘Things are getting real!’
‘If you want to study law, you go to Leiden’, is the answer from many of the students when asked why they chose Leiden. For them, Leiden is the obvious choice: ‘Leiden really is the city to study law. Historical buildings, a tangible history. As well as the best lecturers!’
After a word of welcome, the students attended a short sample lecture on the programmes and the various study associations in the Lorentzzaal. In the smaller classrooms, they got to test their knowledge through a Q&A. ‘It’s really nice that everything is so interactive. I’m interested to see if this remains the case, but I really hope so!’
They had some time to recuperate from their lingering fatigue of the night before in the restaurant, where they could stretch their legs or get a quick energy fix at the coffee table. Our new students found themselves wandering around the faculty, maybe a little awkward still but full of expectations. ‘It’s exactly what I’d imagined. It’s simply incredible!’
We wish all new students good luck with their studies and a fantastic time in Leiden!
