Campus The Hague users invited to have their say on Spui building redevelopment
Campus The Hague users can share their thoughts on the development of the new Spui building. Students, lecturers and other staff are welcome to offer their input. We are still looking for students for our user groups.
We will be holding meetings to give students and staff the chance to have their say on the new building. What do lecturers need from a lecture hall to be able to teach effectively? What makes a study space pleasant for students? What makes hybrid working a success? The building’s future users will be able to share their opinions on questions like these.
Martijn Fritsen (University Services Department) is organising these user group meetings. In autumn 2022 the groups will discuss the building’s uses. The groups will meet once again in 2023 to discuss the further refurbishment of the building and aspects such as the atmosphere, finish and design. The first meetings will be for the independent study and teaching user groups and will start in September. These two user groups will meet once in September and October and there will be a follow-up later in the year. There will also be meetings for, among others the offices, facilities, study associations and ICT user groups.
Students wanted
The Faculties of Humanities, Social and Behavioural Sciences, and Governance and Global Affairs are the faculties with the most students in The Hague. They have been asked if they foresee major changes in their education so that a rough framework for the building can be developed. Representatives from all the current users of the Campus The Hague buildings have been asked to join the user groups.
For the independent-study user group, we are looking for students who often come to Campus The Hague and want to have their say. To sign up, send an email to Martijn Fritsen. Staff can also email him if they would like to provide input for the user groups or have any questions. Minutes will be taken of the meetings.
