Juan Masullo Jimenez appointed as APSA research methods journal co-editor
Ezequiel Gonzalez-Ocantos (Oxford University) and Juan Masullo Jimenez (Leiden University Institute of Political Science) are the new editors of Qualitative and Multi-Method Research (QMMR). QMMR is a biannual publication of the American Political Science Association (APSA) section for the study, development, and practice of qualitative and multi-method research techniques.
QMMR is a bi-annual journal inviting submissions for articles and symposia. The editors especially encourage proposals of broad interest for QMMR scholars, such as discussions of new methods and techniques, author-meets-critics symposia for recent methodological publications, or contributions to ongoing debates about the theory and practice of qualitative and/or multi-method research.
As the new editors, Gonzales-Ocantos and Masullo Jimenez have introduced two new sections: ‘Notes from the Field’, featuring personal reflections on the challenges involved in conducting fieldwork, and ‘Notes from the Classroom’, a space for scholars who teach qualitative methods to share advice on how to (and how not to) teach certain topics/techniques, including examples of syllabus design, in-class exercises, and more.
‘I would like to invite both colleagues and graduate students to familiarise themselves with QMMR’, says Masullo. ‘If you are interested in qualitative and multi-method research, or use them in your own research, we warmly invite you to submit your work to QMMR. Questions? Ideas? Please do not hesitate to contact me or my fellow editor Ezequiel Gonzalez-Ocantos.’
