Faculty beach party 2022: Beach clean-up and Robinson Experience (and no rain!)
In the end, the weather gods were on our side so that all outdoor activities at the faculty beach party could go ahead as planned.
On 8 June 2022, a beach party for Leiden Law School staff was held at beach pavilion SandCbar in Katwijk aan Zee. On the day, everyone was constantly checking the weather forecast. Luckily all turned out well in the end and everyone could make their way to the beach for the activities.
Some people threw themselves into a full-blown beach clean-up, and bags were soon filling up with the litter scattered along the beach. Others chose to throw their reputations to the wind in the Robinson Experience where the programme included various challenges. Teams competed with each other, among other things building pyramids, catapulting, a combination of frisbee and archery, and, like a true ‘Robinson’, even attempting to make fire using a few primitive attributes.
Once everyone had tidied themselves up, the winning teams were announced and together with Dean Joanne van der Leun we raised our glasses to a great beach party. The afternoon concluded with drinks and a buffet meal. A great way to round off the day!
