Walaeus Library part of UBL
Starting 1 November, the Walaeus Library, located in the Leiden University Medical Centre, is part of Leiden University Libraries (UBL).
Academic information services for LUMC students and staff will from now on be provided by the UBL. This also means that the UBL will take care of services on location, and will take over collection development and subscription and license management for medical journals and databases. The UBL will also provide education in the LUMC in the field of information literacy and make publications of LUMC researchers available via the Leiden Repository.
The Medical Information Specialists who have also joined the UBL, form a new department, from which they will advise and assist researchers, lecturers and students of the LUMC, for example in setting up literature research, creating search strategies in specialist datasets and reference management.
A Digital Scholarship Librarian has been appointed at the UBL, who will advise and support LUMC researchers in open access publishing.
