Gitta Veldt wins Meijers prize and Van Wersch Springplank prize
The Meijers prizes are awarded each year for the best published article from each faculty research programme. Veldt received the prize for her contribution to the research programme ‘Coherent Privaatrecht’ with her article ‘De betekenis van Europese productnormen voor privaatrechtelijke normstelling’ (Rechtsgeleerdheid Magazijn THEMIS 2020-1) (The significance of European product standards for private law standard setting).
This article contains a number of findings from Veldt’s dissertation 'Europese productnormen en privaatrechtelijke normstelling' (European Product Standards and Private Law Standard Setting) for which she was awarded a doctorate on 10 June 2020.
Besides a Meijers prize, Veldt won one of the Van Wersch Springplank prizes with her article in Themis. These two prizes – this year €5000 each – are intended for scholarly publications by active and talented researchers in the field of medical/pharmaceutical and legal research.
