Liselore Tissen in Leiden Global on ‘bridging the gap between technology and the humanities’
External PhD Candidate Liselore Tissen was interviewed by Leiden Global about her work, in which she uses 3D printing. Recently she made a copy of a decorative human skill this way.
When asked about the advantages of using 3D printing, Tissen answered that besides touching these reproductions, you can also find out how an artwork has changed throughout time. What Tissen finds most interesting however, are how 3D printed copies raise questions about authenticity: “Which Girl with the Pearl Earring is more authentic, the one in the museum or the reproduction that comes closer to Vermeer’s original conception?”
