Annual overview Leiden2022: Leiden Law School
A presentation on the latest developments in artificial intelligence and law, several public lectures on Criminal Justice, and a brand new trial in which Leiden female serial killer ‘Goeie Mie’ was acquitted after all. It was all possible during Leiden European City of Science 2022. Below is an overview of the year.
In 2022, Leiden was chosen as European City of Science. The entire year was all about science, and bringing it to a wider audience. Leiden University played a major role in this year of science, and Leiden Law School also made its mark. For instance, three Criminal Justice lectures were organised in 2022 that were open to the general public. De Living Library, the truth-finding day about the case of Goeie Mie, and the day on Brain and Law were great successes. During the Euroscience Open Forum, which was held in Leiden this year, various professors and PhD students were able to present and share their research and knowledge during lectures, sessions and panels. Staff from Leiden Law School were also frequent guests on Radio Weetlust, the daily Leiden European City of Science radio broadcast, to speak about their expertise in an accessible and informal manner.
