Reijer Passchier wins Meijers prize and Van Wersch Springplank prize
The Meijers prizes are awarded each year for the best published article from each faculty research programme. Reijer received the prize for his contribution to the programme ‘The Legitimacy and Effectiveness of Law & Governance’ with his article ‘Digitalisering en de (dis)balans binnen de trias politica’ (Digitalisation and the (dis)balance within the Trias Politica) (Ars Aequi 69(10), 2020).
The article is an advance publication of part of Reijer’s book ‘Artificiële intelligentie en de rechtsstaat’ (Artificial Intelligence and the Rule of Law) which is to be published in February 2021 (Boom Juridisch).
Besides a Meijers prize, Reijer also won one of the Van Wersch Springplank prizes for his article in Ars Aequi. This year two prizes of €5000 were awarded to scholarly publications by active and talented researchers in the field of medical/pharmaceutical and legal research.
Reijer will use most of the Van Wersch Springplank prize to carry out further research on the future of the rule of law in a society undergoing digitalisation, including international research.
