Working from home
To set up your digital workspace, use the following tools: Webmail, Office 365 and OneDrive.
Email and calendar
Use webmail to view your work email, calendar and shared mailbox(es). Do you have a shared mailbox with colleagues? Read the manual on the helpdesk portal on how to open a shared mailbox.
Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Use Office 365 to work with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other Office applications.
Online (video) calls
Use Microsoft Teams for collaborating, chatting and meetings.
Saving files in the cloud
Save files to OneDrive. Contact the helpdesk portal to have your files transferred from the P: Drive to OneDrive.
Sending large files
Use SURFfilesender to send large files.
Print from your own laptop at work
You can use Web Print to print with your own laptop at work.
Online tools for education and research
A number of teaching and research applications are available for use outside of the University network. See the list of all available applications, such as ArcGIS, Atlas.ti, Matlab and SPSS.
Remote Workspace
If possible, only use Remote Workspace to log in to Self Service.
Workplace at home
In consultation with your supervisor and under certain conditions, you can request facilities for working from home:
- Laptops
- Monitors, tablets and other accessories
- Facilities for working from home, such as desks and office chairs
