Find a coach
Are you looking for a coach? If so, you’re welcome to contact one of the university’s internal or external coaches; you can do this directly yourself, after choosing a coach who seems suitable.
You can schedule a free, no-obligation introductory session with each of the coaches. If you ‘click’ with a coach, there will be an intake interview to clarify your coaching needs and what kind of programme you want. The coach will then send a price quotation, which must be approved by your manager/HR adviser.
If you need some help with choosing, you can fill in this form to further specify your needs and then read the following coach profiles carefully.
Are you a PhD candidate or postdoc? Then you can request a free consultation and 3 to 5 meetings with an internal career coach (this does not apply to external PhD candidates).
Internal coaches
Leiden University’s professional coaches offer individual coaching and career guidance. View the profile pages below to read more about the focus areas of each coach. If you’d like to make an appointment, please send an email to coaching@bb.leidenuniv.nl.

About the coach
Florien: ‘I’m an alumna of Leiden University, having graduated with a degree in Chemistry in 2007. I then worked at Delft University of Technology for three years, where I gained a sense of the complex relationships within a university. My science background taught me to think in a solution-oriented and analytical way, which gives me a good rapport with people who also think along similar lines.
Whether your problem relates to being effective in your current work or gaining a perspective on other work, the solution is always situated in a different area than the problem itself. We explore the problem and its context together, and use a targeted approach to tackle it.’
Florien has a great deal of experience with coaching university staff members, including trainees, PhD candidates, study advisers, IT specialists and associate professors. She has NOLOC certification.
Make an appointment
Florien coaches on-site in Delft, close to the station; in Leiden, adjacent to Leiden Lammenschans station; and, in consultation, at Leiden University. You can also make an appointment for online coaching. Florien speaks Dutch and English.
You can contact Florien by sending an email to info@frisperspectief.nl or calling 06-15060431. You can also view her website and LinkedIn profile.

Marion: ‘I challenge you to investigate your issue yourself. I listen and ask further questions, hold a mirror up to you and speak about other people’s experiences.
