On June 5, the Leiden Teachers’ Academy will host the 10th LTA Education Conference from 1-5 PM. In ordinary times, our 10th anniversary edition would call for a celebration. However, given the current concerns and trying times for our colleagues and Dutch Universities at large, we’ve decided to put the spotlight on the future of our profession instead.
The 2025 LTA Teaching Conference will therefore focus on safeguarding and future-proofing higher education. With the aim of staying strong together in times of crisis, we’ve selected the following topics for the afternoon:
- Inspiration
Learn from other teachers and colleagues. This conference is designed to energize you with new ideas and fuel your teaching for the times to come. - Efficiency
In times of budget cuts it is essential to develop high quality education with optimal efficiency. How can you handle large reviewing tasks? How can AI assist you? And how can a limited number of teachers deal with large groups of students? - Radical changes
Difficult times often require radical changes. From reconsidering fundamentals such as grading, to new and engaging modes of education; we want to take you along in an exploration of innovations in education.
Our conference schedule is ambitious. It challenges you to rethink professional boundaries, just like these demanding times will. Expect an interactive setting with gamification workshops, AI, effective examination methods, peer feedback and much more. Lunch is included.
