Una Europa FAIR Data Hackathon for PhD Candidates

Date
Monday 21 April 2025 - Friday 25 April 2025
Address
In Leiden (exact location to be confirmed)

Boost your FAIR data expertise, share your research with peers and develop your international network!

This opportunity is open to doctoral researchers at participating Una Europa partner universities, including Leiden University.

Apply to join this unique week in Leiden: deepen your FAIR data knowledge and skills, and connect with an international community by taking part in the 3-day hackathon and 2-day international SOLID data conference SOSY2025 in Leiden.

Why should I participate?

Gain an in-depth knowledge of what FAIR data is and why it matters.

You will learn what FAIR data principles are, why they are important and how the science-focused FAIR system works. We’ll also look at the roles of different stakeholders (academia, government, private sector) and the global implementation of FAIR principles.

Learn how to apply FAIR data principles to your own research.

Work with and improve your own dataset. Develop your data stewardship skills and gain the information you need to be able to participate actively in the FAIR data discussions.

Develop your professional skills and network.

You will join doctoral researchers from across the Una Europa network at this event and you’ll be guided by academic experts. Share your research results with peers and develop your teamwork and presentation skills.

All participants will receive a certificate of attendance. The total study load is 84 hours (3 ECTS).

  • Are based at participating Una Europa partner universities (visit the registration form to view the list of participating universities).

*Please note that the first day of the Hackathon - 21 April - is Easter Monday: a public holiday in the Netherlands and several other countries.
