Ethical assessment is, among other things, about the protection of participants regardless of who conducts the research. Ethics is an aspect of academic research skills. So, should students be educated in ethical aspects of conducting research? Does this mean that research conducted by students should be reviewed by the Ethics Review Committees (ERC)? If yes, are ERCs up to this extra tasks? What are the challenges?

During this webinar, participants are invited to learn about best-practice approaches at Leiden University regarding ethical reviewing of student research. Participants will also engage in a strategic discussion on further developing these approaches within their respective institutes and programmes.
