The BIAS project: Mitigating diversity biases of AI systems in the workplace
Launched in November 2022 and co-funded by the European Union and the Swiss Government, the BIAS project aims to identify and mitigate diversity biases in AI applications within the labour market, particularly in HR management. To achieve this, our cross-sector, multi-disciplinary consortium seeks to deepen understanding of diversity bias, AI fairness, and current technologies.
Additionally, the project actively trains stakeholders involved in designing and using these technologies. The BIAS Consortium engages in a range of activities, including co-creation workshops, expert interviews, surveys, and capacity-building sessions. Finally, it is developing an innovative tool to help HR professionals detect and mitigate bias in AI-driven recruitment and selection processes.
