Methodology and Statistics Psychology's Alumni Career Event will take place on 6 March 2024; The moment in the year when alumni catch up, M&S master's students get help with their orientation to the job market and Psychology bachelor students discover whether this could be their future.

Nino Weerman, The Data Story

Lead Data Science Consultant

Nino Weerman Graduated with a Master’s Degree in Psychology: Methodology & Statistics, after completing a bachelor in psychology. During this course, he did an internship at the ING assessing the psychometric quality of a questionnaire they developed for measuring behavioural risk. After graduation, he worked at the University Amsterdam teaching courses in Psychology and Statistics at the Pre-Master Behavioural Data Science. Currently, he works as a Lead Data Science Consultant at the Data story. Here, he works for customers such as KPN, BNG bank, Action and RTL and – amongst other things – uses machine learning on weather data for predicting which movie or show someone will watch (aimed at keeping people as long as possible on a platform). 

Andrés Pérez

Andrés Pérez, Tilburg University / KU Leuven

PhD candidate

Andrés Pérez studied Psychology at Universidad Nacional de Colombia (2014-2019), focusing mainly on Psychometrics and Sports Psychology. After working one year as a Sports Psychologist, he decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Methodology and Statistics at Leiden University.  Following this career path, the next step was a short experience as a Data Analyst at Elsevier before moving on to a PhD position at Tilburg University/KU Leuven. His PhD project focuses on integrating clustering techniques with Structural Equation Modeling in the context of social sciences. Currently, his main activities are research and teaching.
