This inaugural workshop organized by the ERC-funded project The Van Manen Collection: Locating Literature, Lived Religion, and Lives in the Himalayas discusses the interplay between text and object (the written and the material) in early 20th-century Himalayan communities.
Presentations will address specific aspects of the Van Manen collection as found in the World Museum Leiden and the Special Collections in the Leiden University Library as well as more general methodological and theoretical issues in relation to this theme.
