Work Stress Week 2024: free activities to help reduce work-related stress

The university is constantly working to improve processes and structures and reduce work pressure but you too can do your bit to beat stress. For example, by moving regularly while at work, taking regular and micro breaks, practising mindfulness, seeking out silence or clearing your mind with a good bout of exercise. During Work Stress Week from 11 to 15 November, you can take workshops on tackling work stress and increasing your vitality.
Programme and registration
All the activities are free of charge. Click on the activity of your choice to access the registration form. You can sign up until 16.00 on the day before each activity. For activities on Monday 11 November, you can sign up until 16.00 on Friday 8 November.

In this inspiration session you will do fun, playful exercises in the form of “brain teasers” to gain insight into how your brain works. You will also engage in relaxation exercises that you can do at any time, even during the working day. |

Experience the power of silence (NL) This workshop is more than an hour of meditation. Find out how silence can boost your well-being and experience its power in just a short space of time. You will do exercises to relax your body and mind and receive practical tips on how to incorporate more silence into your everyday life. |

Looking to reduce stress and become more focused? Mindfulness teaches you to become aware of your experiences. Through exercises, you learn to notice what is happening in your body and in your surroundings. |

In Pilates you will do low-impact exercises at slow speed. This mainly involves using your core: your abdominal muscles. You will not only become stronger but will also develop a better posture and more stamina. |

You will also look at whether you get enough exercise and will do a short fitness test. Are you prone to stress and fatigue? Yin Yang Yoga is a combination of gentle and vigorous yoga and helps you achieve a better balance and mind-body connection |

This High Intensity Interval Training consists of powerful exercises with short rests in between. You will do lots of bodyweight exercises, such as pushups, squats, burpees and planks, in this full-body workout. |
