About the workshop:

Comprehensive statistics education requires a balance between delivering technical content and reasoning skills about data. The trade-offs are considerable in practice given the limited time available in a typical university course. Replication of quantitative analysis in scientific studies is a multi-faceted pedagogical tool that immerses students directly and practically into the intricacies of the scientific process and statistical reasoning in the context of concrete research problems. It also helps students develop technical understanding of statistical models in the context of “messy” research questions.

The workshop introduces the ReplicatED project, which develops teaching tools, resources, and approaches to improve accessibility of statistical replication projects at all levels of undergraduate education and across variety of academic disciplines.

15:00-15:30 – Presentation of the ReplicatED project

15:30-16:30 – Practical examples of how to use quantitative replication in undergraduate classrooms
