The Campus The Hague event 'Meet the employer' will take place again this fall, sign up soon! This event is organized by the faculties of Governance and Global Affairs, Humanities and Social Sciences. During the day you get to meet interesting companies and organizations, such as KPMG, Commit Global, Europese Centrale Bank, TNO and Oxfam Novib. And who knows… maybe you will meet your future employer?
Have a look at the program and find more information on the speakers by clicking on the organizations. You can register for the entire day for only 3 euros. If you are present between 09.00 - 10.00 hrs, you may get a smoothie at the smoothie bar. From 10.15 on the first round of workshops starts. Each workshop is around 45 minutes. You can sign up for and take part in a maximum of six workshops. The last workshop lasts until 17.00 hrs.
What can you expect?
When you sign up for the event, you can register for various workshops, based on your preference. During the workshops, you will meet organizations and potential employers. You will learn from employees and alumni about their work experiences, their career paths and any vacancies or positions you are interested in. You can get answers to questions such as:
- What kind of internships are there during my studies?
- What kind of jobs are there after I graduate?
- Which organization is the right fit me?
- What do I need to do to obtain the required skills, knowledge or experience for the position I like?
Perhaps you are orienting yourself in general and want to know more about an organization, a specific internship or (type of) job. In whatever phase you are in in terms of job orientation, you are most welcome to join Meet the Employer!
Wij ondersteunen gemeenten bij beleid gerelateerde onderzoeken in het sociaal domein. Hierbij zijn de behoeften van bewoners voor ons het uitgangspunt. Wij brengen huidig beleid in beeld, evalueren dit en ondersteunen vervolgens bij verdere beleidsontwikkeling. De focus ligt rondom de thema’s bestaanszekerheid, jeugd & jongeren en de sociale basis.
De workshopsessie:
Wij nemen de studenten mee in een 'week van een onderzoeker', wij vertellen aan de hand van een presentatie wat onze werkzaamheden zijn. Daarnaast denken wij aan een (kort) actief gedeelte in de vorm van een quiz of vragenronde om erachter te komen of het een student vooral leuk lijkt bij ons te werken. Hierna (en tussendoor) is ruimte voor vragen van studenten.
Introductie sprekers:
Julian Edens
Julian is onderzoeker en adviseur bij B&A. Hij neemt de behoeften van bewoners als uitgangspunt voor beleid. In onderzoeken rondom onder andere de WMO, Jeugdwet en Participatiewet kijkt hij met deze blik naar vraagstukken. Hij ondersteunt opdrachtgevers in het laten aansluiten van de beleidswereld op de leefwereld van bewoners.
Sari van Aart
Sari is een adviseur en onderzoeker bij B&A en heeft een brede ervaring in het werken van innovatieprojecten in de sociale en maatschappelijke projecten. Ze heeft meer dan vier jaar werkervaring als sociaal innovator en hier hield zij zich bezig met het welzijn van mensen. Ze heeft verschillende projecten gedaan voor meerdere gemeentes, waarbij zij innoveerde in maatschappelijke projecten om samen met inwoners tot oplossingen te komen.

Furthermore, participants will be guided through the stages of the recruitment process to join the European Central Bank and review the requirements, duration, and benefits of the different professional opportunities.
The presentation will be followed by a session of live questions and answers.

Tijdens onze workshopsessie nemen wij de studenten meer naar de wereld van de lobbyist. Hoe ga je om met de belangen van je cliënten en de politieke (on)macht om bepaalde zaken voor elkaar te krijgen? Bij Public Matters wordt er gewerkt aan dit vraagstuk en staat integere belangenbehartiging voorop. Wij werken voor grote en kleine spelers uit het bedrijfsleven en semioverheden om de schakel te zijn tussen hen en de politiek. Dit vraagt om oren en ogen in de politieke arena én bij het Nederlandse bedrijfsleven. Als lobbyist sta je in beide werelden die van elkaar verschillen. Dit maakt het vak dynamisch en elke dag anders.

De workshopsessie zal focussen op de onderwerpen die je misschien niet snel bij IenW verwacht; sancties tegen Rusland, internationale samenwerking, opereren in de oudste internationale organisatie ter wereld en nog meer. Ik zal vertellen vanuit het perspectief van de Directie Maritieme Zaken en hoe wij als klein landje ineens veel te zeggen hebben in het internationale speelveld als het gaat over zeevaart, binnenvaart en havens.

Daarnaast ben ik er vooral voor jullie vragen. Ook als je helemaal geen interesse hebt in de maritieme wereld, maar wel wilt weten hoe het is om bij een ministerie te werken of hoe je daar nu binnenkomt en wat je nu al tijdens je studie kan doen.

Feline Schutjes (26): ik werk als beleidsmedewerker Maritieme Zaken bij het Ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat. Ik mag mij druk maken over sancties tegen Rusland, ik vertegenwoordig Nederland in internationale overleggen over digitalisering en nog veel meer.
Ik werk hier nu ongeveer 3 jaar en heb daarvoor een internationale betrekkingen master afgerond aan de Universiteit van Leiden. Verder had ik daarvoor nog geen relevante werkervaring.

About this workshop
Our workshop includes a 35-minute presentation that will explore Commit Global’s mission, organizational culture, and the various career paths available. We aim to highlight the diversity of our portfolio by discussing different types of digital solutions and ongoing projects. Anca is a seasoned professional with a background in project management and executive leadership. She served as Secretary of State in the Romanian Government from 2016 to 2017, and as President of Fundatia9, the charity arm of Societe Generale Bank from 2018 until 2023 when she joined Commit Global. She holds a MSc in International Cooperation and Development and an executive program diploma in Sustainable Humanitarian Action at UCAM-Spain.

Işınsu is a dedicated researcher specializing in women's empowerment, peaceful coexistence, and humanitarianism. Before joining Commit Global, she worked with reputable think tanks, foundations, and research institutes across Turkey and Europe, contributing to publications on foreign affairs, the Women, Peace, and Security agenda, terrorism, and the Humanitarian-Development-Peace nexus. Işınsu holds an MSc in Middle East Studies.
