‘Students who set superior goals, proactively monitor their learning intentionally, use strategies effectively, and respond to personal feedback adaptively not only attain mastery more quickly, but also are more motivated to sustain their efforts to learn’ (Zimmerman, 2012)

Self-regulated learning - learning in which students plan, monitor and evaluate their own learning, is increasingly in the spotlight. What is your vision on self-regulated learning and what support is needed for this within your programme and/or the faculty?

The Vaste Commissie Onderwijs (VCO) would like to invite FSW lecturers and students for an open forum where we will together explore this topic in-depth. This forum originates from the assignment to provide an advice whether further support is necessary in strengthening self-regulatory skills. Both the perspective of students and teachers is highly valuable to get a better grasp of what is needed.

What could we do in terms of vision, policy and goals (learning goals/attainment objectives), the curriculum, evaluation or enhancement of competence? If you want to join us in this conversation, please sign up for one of the two sessions.

There are two sessions: 15:00-16:00 (Dutch) and 16:00-17:00 (English).
