About the speaker
Cyrus Schayegh is Professor of International History and Politics at the Geneva Graduate Institute. He is working on transimperial history, including an introductory book to that field, and on a primary source collection and a series of article-length case studies that bring the 20th-century Middle East to bear on global and imperial history. His most recent works are the monograph The Middle East and the Making of the Modern World, the edited volume Globalizing the U.S. Presidency: Postcolonial Views of John F. Kennedy, and the online primary source collection "International Dimensions of Decolonization in the Middle East and North Africa" at the Wilson Center.
